A midwife is a primary care provider offering care for low-risk women. She carefully monitors and guides her clients through her pregnancy, birth, and time after birth. She is trained to recognize abnormal findings and refers to another health care provider when situations arise that are outside of her scope of practice. Midwives believe in the appropriate use of technology and put women at the centre of the decision making process. Midwives can order all laboratory tests required for the duration of care and can prescribe drugs for certain conditions.

Informed Choice
Your midwife will spend time with you during your prenatal appointments to explain all the tests and procedures available to you. You will receive a lot of information during those visits and will be sharing the responsibility of decision making. Your questions are always welcome.
Client-Centered Care
Midwives will spend time developing a trusting relationship during your time at our clinic and make sure you are at the centre of the care offered. Midwives will ensure the care offered reflects your wishes for your pregnancy and birth.
Choice of Birthplace
Choice of birthplace is unique to midwives. We offer the option of hospital or home births to clients. Your options will be discussed during your prenatal appointments. We also offer information sessions for women interested in exploring their birthing options.
